Andrea Putalová was awarded the Popularizer of Science Award

The Director of the National Centre for the Popularization of Science and Technology in Society within SCSTI Mgr. Andrea Putalová was awarded the Award for Science and Technology 2014 in the category Popularizer of Science – for tireless popularization of science and technology in Slovakia through the activities of the National Centre for the Popularization of Science and Technology in Society within SCSTI.

She received the Award at the ceremony, which was also the culmination of the Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia 2014. The awards for science and technology were given by the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini to scientists and scientific collectives for their achievements and contribution in the field of science, technology and innovation. The ceremonial event took place on Thursday 13 November 2014 on the premises of the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information in Bratislava.

Mgr. Andrea Putalová was at the foundation of the National Centre for the Popularization of Science and Technology in Society in 2007, which became one of the new branches of the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information. Its foundation and activities reflect the current need to promote and popularize science, research, innovations and technology in society. Unique popularization activities and various projects for the promotion and popularization of science and technology, in which creation and organization was Andrea Putalová actively involved from the beginning, significantly contributed and continue to contribute to increasing public awareness of the indispensable role of science, research and technology in the overall development of society.
