Minister of Education J. Draxler appreciated the work of journalists

The Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of SR Juraj Draxler appreciated a positive visualization of Slovak science and technology by journalists. An award for the best reportage about Slovak science and technology had taken over from his hands a team of journalists from RTVS for a reportage about an electronic car "EDISON". Awards for the best amateur films went to Bratislava, Levice and Rožňava, awards for graphic and photography competition have been divided between authors from Sedlice, Bratislava, Spišský Hrušov and Michalovce and awards for an art competition have been given to pupils and students from all over Slovakia.

Minister Juraj Draxler na oceňovaní víťazov súťaží TVT 2015An award ceremony of prizes to the winners of competitions of the Science and Technology Week in Slovakia 2015 was held in the premises of the Small Stage Theatre STU (Divadlo Malá scéna STU) in Bratislava on 11th November 2015 at 13:00 o´clock with the participation of the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of SR Juraj Draxler.

This year, the prizes have been awarded to the winners of five competitions that had been  announced by the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information of SR in cooperation with the National Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Technology in Society. It was a competition for the best reportage about Slovak science and technology, the best amateur filmmakers competition, graphic, photography and art competition. The aim was to support the creativity of pupils and students of secondary schools and universities and also to increase their interest in scientific research, but also to motivate journalists in making reportages with scientific, respectively technical theme, which could make a positive visualization of Slovakia.

Competition for the best reportage about Slovak science and technology

In the competition for the best reportage could compete journalists who created reportage about Slovak science and technology, which was broadcasted on television during the period from 1st October 2014 to 11th October 2015. The basic condition was that the content of the competitive work was linked exclusively with Slovakia. For example, reportage could be about the research, which was realized in Slovakia, about Slovak scientist and the results of his activity, about the Slovak innovation, invention or a new technology.

The winning team of authors: Matej Novák, Gregor Mareš, Ján Kurilla, Alfonz Alexander, Ado Tuan Roman, Vladimír Ferenčák, Peter Kováčik  for reportage broadcasted on the TV show VAT - science and technology. The winning reportage is titled Electric car EDISON.

An award for the best reportage about Slovak science and technology was given to the winner by the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of SR Juraj Draxler.

Ján Turňa odovzdal ceny v súťaži amatérskych filmárovThe best amateur filmmakers competition

The theme of the competition for the best amateur scientific and technical film was "A journey around the world - a light around us". The professional jury picked out the winners from the thirteen films.

In the category up to 12 years gained the victory duo Martin Compel and Daniel Compel from Bratislava with the film called "Light is life".

In the category from 13 to 17 years gained the victory Adrián Ďurči from Levice for his film "The secret of clash of light".

Winner of the category from 18 years: Ladislav Junga from Rožňava with his work called "Light around us".

The prizes have been given to the winners by the managing director of SCSTI SR prof. Ján Turňa.

M. Musilová odovzdáva cenu za výtvarnú súťaž TVT 2015Art competition TVT 2015

The theme of the 10th annual art competition was My Science Centre. 236 drawings were sent into the competition.

I. category: 11 to 13 years old pupils

1st place: Andrea Vilinová, Primary school Stará Ľubovňa, title of artwork: My multimedia classroom

2nd place: Tamara Hošťáková, ZUŠ Stará Turá, title of artwork: Scientific research centre of moods and emotions

3rd place: Andrea Hegyová, Primary school Podvysoká 307, title of artwork: Chemical workplace

II. category: 14 to 16 years old pupils and students

1st place: Barbora Boleková, Private Primary Art School Námestovo, title of artwork: Scientific laboratory through my eyes

2nd place: Aneta Babenská, Primary schools with kindergarten Tulčík, title of artwork: Tree or machine, nature or technology - where is Science Centre hidden?

3rd place: Veronika Belanová, Primary school with Hungarian language, Želiezovce, title of artwork: Iron future

The prizes of this competition have been given to the winners by astrobiologist Dr. Michaela Musilová from the Slovak organization for space activities.

Zľava M. Vozárová a A. Putalová Photography competition

The theme of this year's photography competition was Who or what inspires my interest in science and technology.

An expert commission judged the works in the photography competition on the basis of the score. The commission picked out the winners from the 39 photos.

The prizes of this competition have been given to the winners by Mgr. Andrea Putalová, the managing director of the National Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Technology in Society, a department of SCSTI SR.

I. category: pupils of secondary schools

Winner: Stanislav Gonda, Technical Academy in Spišská Nová Ves

(author comes from Spišský Hrušov), title of artwork: Ecological light bulb

II. category: university students, including PhD students

Winner: Jakub Kováč, Comenius University Bratislava

(author comes from Bratislava), title of artwork: By eyes of art

M. Šarišský odovzdáva cenu víťazke v súťaži TVT 2015Graphic competition

Symbols of science and technology were the theme of graphic competition.

An expert commission picked out the winners of this competition from 36 graphic works.

The prizes of this competition have been given to the winners by Miroslav Šarišský, the managing director of external communication of Slovenské elektrárne, a member of ENEL

I. category: pupils of secondary schools

Winner: Alžbeta Timková, Secondary technical school in Košice, author comes from Sedlica, title of artwork: Science and technology into the soul

II. category: university students, including PhD students

Winner: Viliam Strajňák, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, author comes from Michalovce, title of artwork: Heart of science and technology

This gala event was moderated by Mgr. Monika Vozárová. The folklore body called Živel from Bratislava, formed by students of secondary schools and universities, performed in the program.
