Scientific Patisserie: Why is good to dig in Egypt?

We kindly invite you to the February Scientific Patisserie where visitors will learn more about archaeology, the scientific field, which brings also a lot of adventure. An author of the lecture, Mgr. et Mgr. Martin Odler will give you much more information than you can find in textbooks. Certainly, some textbooks don´t always have such comprehensive information as an experienced man. You will learn, how recent archaeological research creates area also for science and why it is good to examine the past of mankind. The presentation is intended for all who have been charmed by the history and culture of an ancient Egypt.

The event called Bratislava Scientific Patisserie will take place in the building of  CVTI SR on February 17th, 2015 at 9:00 am.. The lecture will be Mgr. et Mgr. Martin Odler.

Martin Odler studied an Egyptology, Prehistoric and Classical Archaeology at FF UK in Prague. Currently, he is a graduant student and researcher of the Czech Institute of Egyptology FF UK in Prague and an employee of the Institute of Oriental Studies SAV. Since 2009, he regularly takes part in expeditions examining an ancient Egyptian pyramid area at Abusir, since 2011, he works on the expeditions of the Institute in Sudan. It is concerned with an ancient Egyptian material culture and the theme of Egypt in Slovak culture and literature.

Bratislava Scientific Patisserie is a project associated to the National Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Technology in Society, CVTI SR and the civic association the Young Scientists of Slovakia.

Coordinators organize a meeting of pupils and students with a specialist at the Congress Hall of the Centre of Scientific and Technical Information SR on the 2nd floor once a month in the morning.
