Scientific Patisserie: Nanostructures for LEDs and Laser Diodes
We kindly invite you to the March Scientific Patisserie, where you will learn how the LEDs and laser diodes work, where all around us you can find them and what is their future. The lecture will also talk about new technology, which focuses on the use of nanostructures in LEDs and laser diodes to improve their properties.
The event called Bratislava Scientific Patisserie will take place in the building of SCSTI SR on March 24, 2015 at 9:00 pm. The lecturer will be doc. Ing. Jaroslav Kováč, PhD.
He studied microelectronics at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava and his work is concerned with the study of semiconductor laser diodes and photonic structures. He is currently working as a researcher in the field of elements and nanostructures for optoelectronic applications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of STU and the International Laser Centre.
Bratislava Scientific Patisserie is a project associated to the National Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Technology in Society, SCSTI SR and the civic association the Young Scientists of Slovakia.
Coordinators organize a meeting of pupils and students with a specialist at the Congress Hall of the Centre of Scientific and Technical Information SR on the 2nd floor once a month in the morning.
